Christian Taylor
Christian Taylor is an accomplished musician, composer, and television producer. For years, Christian and his partner Wally Kurth performed as the band Eddie Maine & the Idle Rich on the popular daytime drama General Hospital. In 2002 Christian won an Emmy® award for the best song used in a daytime television show. The song, "Barefoot Ballet," was composed with help from ACID® software.
For Christian, ACID software acts as an inspiration. "I usually come up with a percussive foundation and build from there," he explains. "ACID software takes my music to places I would never have imagined without it."
Christian's recent projects include a new album with his band Kurth & Taylor titled "The EP," and producing a television series for the Disney-owned cable channel SOAPnet.
The television show is called "1 Day With…" and is hosted by Wally Kurth. "1 Day With…" gives soap opera fans a glimpse into the private lives of their favorite stars. The show airs on SOAPnet on Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT. Christian used Vegas® and ACID software in the creation of the television show. "Vegas and ACID software helped me transform a concept for a TV show into the real thing," he says.
Christian was thrilled that Disney picked up his show, but he was given a tight timeline to have the pilot ready for the fall 2004 season. "We shot the pilot in L.A. and I flew back to Nashville the next day with 15 hours of footage. I had one week to edit the footage and make the fall season deadline." Christian continues, "Vegas software performed perfectly. From syncing to compositing to music editing, it allowed me to achieve my goal. We turned in the pilot and were picked up for the fall 2004 season."

As the composer for the show I almost always start out with ACID software," says Christian. "The show incorporates a good deal of music, so it requires me to execute my creativity in a very expeditious manner. I have to create diverse musical grooves - everything from metal to acoustic to hip-hop. ACID software allows me to shift gears quickly and think beyond my normal frame of reference."
In addition to his music and television career, Christian heads The Kurth & Taylor Foundation which provides funding and support to direct-services health and educational programs for children. He also operates the multimedia company Zebra3media with partner J. Stocco.
