Easy to Use
I am fairly new to the world of video editing and found that tthe Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 was very user friendly with my limited knowledge of video editing and production.

Best thing about it... you can move up!
I was new to video editing and I read tons of reviews. The one review that really resonated said that if you buy Movie Studio, you can move to a pro package easily -- and they were right! I had Movie Studio for two years and just bought Pro! NO PROBLEM! The learning curve might be a little more in the beginning, but, if you think you might really want to be a power user, it can't be beat!

Non-linear Editing as it should be.
I've been a user of Vegas since I first discovered it as an alternative to another NLE I had been using, several years ago. Vegas was far more intuitive than I was used to — and everything, starting from the placement of elements in the user interface, seemed to be exactly where I wanted it to be and, somehow, far simpler to use. Those were the primary reasons why I adopted it.
I now use Vegas Studio for most of my projects, short and feature-length, whether intended for Internet distribution, home/business DVD or for theatrical release. Working on 5.1 surround sound projects too is particularly easy with Vegas and used it exclusively, for a recent promo that I worked on and released theatrically. There was nothing I couldn't do with Vegas except make coffee while editing... Next step? 3D. And in that too, Vegas is way ahead of me, with 3D support included in the product!
I must add that being the cinematographer and sound engineer for most of my projects helps me plan each shot keeping in mind what I will do with it in Vegas later. Features like the cookie cutter and stabilization (among several others) have come in handy while compositing footage to make corrections and effects. In addition to a long list of video/audio effects and transitions that are built into the product, several popular plugins now come with Vegas support, making it less necessary, if at all, to switch applications for processing effects and "looks".
Working with HD was one of the original reasons that I had considered Vegas Movie Studio for — and it hasn't disappointed me at all. I did have a few niggling problems with my P2 workflow in the beginning, but nothing that couldn't be handled. Working with DSLR footage is a breeze, and with support for most acquisition formats, nothing seems to be in the way of enjoying Vegas while using it to its fullest potential. A hardware upgrade and the latest version of Vegas Studio have further simplified my rendering workflow — and my customized templates are always just a click away, making life with an NLE as easy as it should be.
For those who understand and implement a fair degree of control over their workflows, and rarely have to use more tracks than for A/B editing, I will recommend Vegas Movie Studio HD for any kind of project, home or business, amateur or professional!

Nice product for intermediate users
This is a nice complete video editing package for the home enthusiast. It has so many features and effects, that I probably won't ever get around to use - but it's nice to know they are available. I do not think it would suit a beginner (not at least without the guidance from an avid user helping them), because I can see a new user getting frustrated easily if they loose or bump a piece down the time-line, and it completely throws the rest of the finished segments out of kilter! I am very happy with this as I learned with Movie Studio Platinum 10 and was completely addicted to my projects - so Platinum 11 was the logical next step. 5 Stars!

Great Editing Software!!!
As a novice at video editing, I started with Sony Vegas 9 and with each new incarnation of this software, I've quickly gone from "novice" to the person people come to for help.
Sony Vegas 11 continues the tradition of solid, easy-to-use video editing software.
I would and HAVE recommended it to anyone who will listen!

Good price-value and excellent features
Product has very good features for its price. I got this as an upgrade to a previous version with a very reasonable price after rebate. Enjoy using it and prefer it over other video editing software I have used.

Powerful Video Editing / Compositing Tool
I purchased Vegas Platinum 9, 10 and now 11. 11 is by far the best home studio editing tool on the market. You have the ability to key everything and overlay plenty of videos, titles, and transition effects. I composite a lot of shots and Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 allows me to do almost everything. I'm very please with the full suite of tools. Audio editing via my program of choice is also a snap. The only thing that makes me want to upgrade to Vegas 11 Pro (professional editing tool) is not having the very fine tuned ability to key and fade dynamic masks. Don't get me wrong, I've done some pretty amazing things with the cookie cutter mask tool that comes built into Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. But from amateurs to home professionals, Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 is going to get you where you want to be. I could not ask for a better tool. Thank you Sony!
