Russ Landau
Russ Landau is an award-winning composer and a very busy man. Russ has begun scoring two new films even as he continues his celebrated work on the CBS hit series "Survivor" with new scores and cues for "Survivor XI: Guatemala," "Fear Factor VI" from NBC as well as that network's new series, "Three Wishes." ACID® Pro software helps Russ meet the challenges of his successful career.

"NBC's new series, "Three Wishes," needed a ton of variations on my themes. ACID and Sony Sound Series™ loops helped me rearrange quickly, add elements, chop up, speed up, slow down
and pitch shift effortlessly," Russ states. He was able to continue work on other projects while his music editor and ACID moved ahead with variations for "Three Wishes." "I set up a separate 'ACID Room' and put my music editor in there with my recently composed pieces and encouraged him to go crazy, try anything and everything. I would go in at the end of each day and select what I considered to be successful attempts. Then we'd track overdubbing vocals, guitars, and percussion. I often went back into the Sony Sound Series collection for pads and more. Once I was happy with the outcome, I'd have my editor do multiple mix-downs at different tempos and with various tracks muted for variety. This gave me a comprehensive catalog of theme variations for the show in a minimum timeframe."

Russ has been scoring for television and film for over a decade. His long list of television credits includes "Average Joe 1-4" and "Dog Eat Dog" for NBC, "Eco Challenge" for USA, and "Survivor UK - Trust No One," for British ITV. Lion's Gate "Super Fire" and "The Rock" from Hollywood Pictures are just a few of his film credits. In 1995 he shared a Grammy® Award for Best New Age Album for "Prayer for the Wild Things," and has received two Emmy nominations, one in 1995 for "SeaQuest 2032," and one in 2001 for the theme from Survivor, "Ancient Voices."
