Sony Vegas gave us an incredibly fast and cost-effective solution for color correction and footage matching and an additional film effect that makes any low budget project look like a high
budget production.

Bobby G credits his 2006 Emmy win to Vegas software. In this commercial for a major gas utility company, an egg makes the desperate choice to
commit suicide rather than be cooked on an electric stove. This commercial was filmed on 35 mm and used Sony Vegas software for the final edit and logo treatment that won the 2006 Southeast Emmy Award. Sony Vegas software kept the final product sunny side up by giving it a crisp, clean, and smooth look.
Bobby G just recently cast his vote to use Vegas in another TV commercial he produced, this time for a candidate's Secretary of State political campaign in Georgia. This commercial used Vegas software's strengths in editing and compositing to convey a "talking billboard" of the candidate. In this project, he mixed standard definition and high-definition digital video footage. Flexibility of resizing, clipping and chroma keying helped to execute this project in one day from the beginning to the end. Vegas also enabled him to create streaming edit, broadcast quality edit and DVD (mp2) ready edit directly from the Vegas master timeline. The richness of inputting and outputting compressions and file compatibility saved time in this project as it has done in many other projects.
Again, Bobby G put Sony Vegas software to work in the latest music video he co-directed / co-produced and edited for country music singer Memarie to promote her single, "The Hole in Willie's Guitar." The music video was a mix of 16 mm film and DV footage.
Bobby G states, "It is great to have such a powerful tool on site to create dailies and rough edits directly on my laptop without any additional equipment needed, and then continue the same workflow from the field back in the studio without any loss of time. In fact, sometimes the rough cut that was done on the field just gets polished up in the post."
Powerful color correction and matching tools that use comprehensive Secondary Color Correction filters helped adjust differences in video from different cameras and matched it up with 16 mm film and allowed specific color ranges to stand out to create the specific look for this project.
"A great advantage of Vegas is that all edits can be instantly analyzed on one of the pro scopes and viewable on an external monitor, which is really helpful. Vegas is such a powerful tool that lets you stay in one application for almost everything you need: audio editing, video editing and compositing, mastering and outputting of your project for a variety of media."
