Hands On with Zig
Music, multiculturalism, and technology come together in creating "Hands On with Zig," an acclaimed educational program developed by educator and musician Zig Wajler. Hands On with Zig integrates state-of-the-art technology alongside contemporary and authentic multicultural musical themes. Zig aims to augment schools' curriculum through the creation and appreciation of music, and he does this successfully with help from Sony Creative Software products.
Hands On with Zig has been presented in various forms across the United States to over one million attendees of all ages. Zig has presented to students in K-12 school systems and universities, teachers, and parents, as well as patrons of theaters, learning centers, festivals, civic centers, summer programs, and music dealers.

Zig uses a number of Sony Creative Software products in his Hands On with Zig programs, including Sound Forge® and ACID® Pro software, and loops and samples from the Sony® Sound Series™ collection. In his Literacy and Music Composition workshop, one of his most popular programs with schools and organizations that serve at-risk youth Zig pairs Sony Creative Software music technology with creative writing. In these workshops, students work as teams of composers to create an original audio CD.
This interactive educational experience relates to The National Standards for Music and Technology through creation, production, history, culture, and appreciation through active audience participation. Zig's programs partner music with cross-curricular subjects of math, science, history, reading, and geography.
"The benefits of Hands On with Zig are long-lasting and reach beyond just music," says Zig. By incorporating Sony Creative Software products in his programs, Zig feels that he helps introduce school and organizations to 'think outside the box' with new methodologies and technologies in a fun and creative way. Together, Hands On with Zig, and Sony Creative Software products enrich the lives of young minds with the beauty of music and the power of new technology.
