Adjust Subtitle Depth
Z Depth gives you total control over your subtitle and interactive graphic menu offsets. There are a variety of ways to adjust depth – choose the one that works best for you.
User preferences window
The new user preferences window enables you to save as a preset, several project parameters including individual user settings, offset limits and stereoscopic preview mode buffer among others. New to Z Depth 1.5 is Buffer Compensation. This addition helps eliminate the delay in the subtitle depth adjustment that can cause the subtitles to "jump" on Blu-ray players with limited buffering capabilities.

Enhanced graphical offset value display
Displays a new visual cue in the preview window during recording of the disparity value being applied to the subtitle or menu event.
Subpixel precision for digital cinema
New adjustment options for offset data values allow for subpixel precision when outputting file formats compatible with Digital Cinema 3D productions.

Trackbar Fader
The Z Depth interface includes tools to easily set your depth. Start with any of the five presets to quickly set depth based off of your offset range – 0 (screen depth), +/-50%, or +/-100%. Then you can fine tune your adjustment using a trackbar fader. Both the presets and the fader can be used during playback or on still frames.
Control surface fader
The included PreSonus FaderPort moves to match the current offset value. Hold or adjust the fader, and Z Depth will track your movements and record the new offset information. After you release the fader, the offset data is automatically smoothed to assure a graceful appearance on screen.
Keyboard
Use the up and down cursor keys to move the subtitle in or out of the screen. The shift key can be used in combination with the up and down keys to move in larger steps.

Direct envelope manipulation
Your subtitle depth settings are represented in a graph view on the Vegas Pro timeline called an envelope. The points on the envelope, or handles, can be clicked and dragged to change time and/or depth. You can add and remove points, or draw directly on the timeline with automatic smoothing. This method of subtitle depth adjustment is especially handy for situations where you need to insert a fixed amount of time before the subtitles, for example when working on an Extended cut. You can even cut, copy, and paste envelope data within or between Vegas Pro projects.
Mouse wheel
The mouse wheel is also mapped to the depth axis. Rolling towards the screen pushes the subtitle deeper and rolling away from the screen brings the subtitle nearer.
Undo/Redo
Quickly and easily restore previous edits without needing to rework your entire project.
